We took a very quick trip out to Meldon Reservoir today. Unfortunately both our kids are feeling under the weather, and only Joe felt up to the task of crossing the dam.
From the far side you can get a good view of the dam, and see the West Okement river flow through the valley down to Meldon viaduct.
There’s a pathway through a gate following the side of the dam via some steps that reaches the bottom of the valley. Joe really wasn’t up for going down them though, I suggested to him that maybe he’d like a swim in the reservoir instead…
