I bought this with the Dreamcast at the UK launch of the machine. I was absolutely amazed with the graphics and speed. The first level with a section where a killer whale is destroying a jetty behind you while you run into the screen was unlike anything I’d seen before.
Stuff about Sonic the Hedgehog
This is the Master System version rather than the Mega Drive one. I’d never really played it before, but had heard comments that it is better than the 16bit version. I did enjoy it quite a lot, but I don’t believe that to be the case at all.
I hadn’t played this in a very long time. I remembered feeling a bit let down after Sonic 2, and I think that probably still stands. It’s a great game, but the levels are too long and the ending is a bit anti-climactic. I managed to get all the chaos emeralds though, the bonus levels get very hard!
